Sonic the Hedgehog Archive Volume 8

Archie’s lone graphic novel for the month of July: Sonic the Hedgehog Archives Volume 8!

The Sonic Archives series has emerged as one of Archie’s best-selling trade paperbacks, as fans both new and old can relive the glory days of Sonic the Hedgehog in these high-quality, digitally-restored graphic novels, complete with all the classic Sonic stories from the 1990’s! Now with Sonic Archives Volume 8, Sonic lovers can add to their collections issues #29-32, stories which are almost impossible to come across now. Stories include: “The Return of Uncle Chuck” - When an experiment of Robotnik’s goes horribly awry, the venomous villain finds himself trapped in the “Void,” a parallel dimension, while his scheming nephew Snively attempts to wipe Knothole off the map, and with it, the rest of Mobius! Fortunately for our heroes, the experiment also gave Sonic’s uncle Chuck his free will back, and with his help, the Freedom Fighters have a fighting chance of stopping Snively and…could it be…rescuing Robotnik?!

Sonic the Hedgehog Archives Volume 6

Saturday, June 9th, 2007

Sonic the Hedgehog Archives Vol. 6ComicList has recently spotlighted the latest, up and coming Sonic the Hedgehog Archive installment, volume 6.

Excerpt follows: Picking up where the SONIC THE HEDGEHOG ARCHIVES #5 left off (which reprinted the original Sonic series issues #17 through #20), SONIC THE HEDGEHOG ARCHIVES #6 brings fans these classic tales from issues #21 through #24 - including the return of Anti-Sonic and the first glimpse of Antoine and Bunnie’s budding romance! Stories include: “The Three Phases of E.V.E.” (issue #21), “The Return” and “Tails’ Knighttime Story” (issue #22), “Ivo Robotnik, Freedom Fighter” and “The Vol-Ant-Teer” (issue #23), and the epic, “When Hedgehogs Collide” (issue #24). Including the first… and last appearance of Julayla, an early, important person in Sonic mythology!

Sure, the diminutive format is a tad annoying, but the friendly price ($7.49 MSRP) more than makes up for it. Besides, back issue prices for Sonic the Hedgehog issues are crazy. Where else are you going to find affordable, early Sonic?

Kudos to Archie comics for publishing and supporting this collected edition series.

Archie ComicsSo I’ve finally (finally) added Archie Comic’s line-up of graphic novels to the archive. Lots of fun stuff - not only classic Archie, but some silver/golden age superhero books, and the new Sonic the Hedgehog Archive collected editions - something I’m incredibly glad to see.
