Transformers Graphic Novels Part 3: More Marvel
Continuing the GNA’s eight part Transformers Graphic Novels overview, Marvel’s Transformers: Generation 2.
Read on for more.
Marvel’s Transformers: Generation 2
[In 1993, a couple of years following the cancellation of Marvel's first Transformers series, Hasbro and Marvel teamed up to produce Transformers: Generation 2, a short lived series of only 12 issues.
As far as continuity is concerned, G2 picks up after the events in Marvel's cancelled Transformers, following a brief lead-in crossover event in Marvel's then-running G.I. Joe.
Yet again, Titan Books has performed the collection duties, with both trade paperback and hardcover formats. Sadly, while the entire G2 series has been collected, the lead-in issues of G.I. Joe (#138-142) have not.]

The saga of Transformers enters Generation 2: bigger, badder and more in your face than ever before. The kid gloves are off, and how! Up till now, the Autobots thought the scale of their problems amounted to Megatron and his Decepticons… and the odd renegade god. They’re about to realise they’re playing in a much bigger arena than they ever thought possible, for much, much bigger stakes. Beyond the fringes of known space an ancient power is spreading its malign influence, turning whole worlds, whole galaxies into a dark mosaic of its own design. A design that is unmistakeably Cybertronian in origin! Plus, the rise of the Swarm, and the beginning of the end… - Amazon.com
[Collects Transformers: Generation 2 #1-6. Note: the issue #2 backup story, "Ghosts", is not included in this collection. Also available as a limited edition Amazon exclusive hardcover.]

The galaxy-spanning saga of Transformers: Generation 2 continues… As Jhiaxus and the new Cybertronians continue their remorseless advance across the universe, colonising and mechaforming planets as they go, the Autobots and the Decepticons enter a wary alliance against this common foe. But the threat of Jhiaxus pales in comparison to the Swarm, a faceless mass consuming Transformers wholesale. What is it? Where did it come from? The answers strike close to home, and for Optimus Prime only one course of action remains… he must die! Plus, treachery from Starscream (of course), Megatron unleashed and the most shocking ending of all time! - Amazon.com
[Collects Transformers: Generation 2 #7-12. Also available as a limited edition Amazon exclusive hardcover.]
[Short but sweet, the next installment of the GNA's Transformers Graphic Novels blog series kicks things off with a new Transformer comic licensee. Be there, or be... somewhere else.]
